1. Enhance Daggerfall Unity gameplay by making language skills more viable and adding a new guild to the game, called 'The Archaeologists Guild'. Their mission is to delve into the history of Tamriel and they're interested in all creatures and races who have lived or still live there.
2. Go back into (HardDrive/SSD root):DOSDaggerfall and open Daggerfall.conf in Notepad. Scroll to the very bottom and find autoexec. Delete everything already inside it and Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V this into it: mount c (HardDrive/SSD root):DOSDaggerfall -freesize 1000 mount d (HardDrive/SSD root):DOSDaggerfalldfcd -t cdrom -label Daggerfall c.

You need to uncompress the 7z archive using the proper software (please use Keka to avoid problems). If the archive contains a DMG, double click it to mount the disk. After that, drag & drop the game icon into Applications (or another folder, Desktop will be fine too). New versions of MacOS block applications from identified developers.

Now that some folks are using mod features created by Lypyl and TheLacus, I thought it might be a good time to create an official thread of sorts to keep them all in one place for now.
If you've created a mod that is ready for download, please post a link and brief description as a reply to this topic. I will edit this first post to keep them all together.
While there is only a small number of mods, I will also host on dfworkshop.net and provide a central download page for them all. At some point though we should look at uploading them to Nexus, for example.
Note: Installing mods can increase system requirements compared to base Daggerfall Unity.

How To Download Daggerfall For Mac

Post-Processing (TheLacus) [more+download] - Add post effects like SSAO.

Downloading Mods
A mod download page will be added to Daggerfall Workshop soon. Once the number of mods increases beyond this small number, it will be for the best to use a standard mod site like Nexus or ModDB to distribute mods.
Installing Mods
Mod creators, please make sure you include a helpful ReadMe with your mod to help users install and contact details so they can reach out for feedback or support.
If you have trouble with a mod, you should be able to reach creator in the Modder Discussion forum.

1. Unzip mod distribution (if necessary).
2. Copy the .dfmod package into your DaggerfallUnity_Data/StreamingAssets/Mods folder.
3. Check the included ReadMe for any special instructions to complete install.

Daggerfall, first released in 1996, is still sucking hours upon hours from gamers. Despite the controls feeling a little outdated Daggerfall presents unparalleled gameplay. The first quest requires you to uncover the secrets of the King’s death. Basic inventory and a simple quest is all you get. The challenge requires an eye for solving mysteries.

Daggerfall separates itself from other RPGs with its open-world layout. You can spend hours discovering what happened to the King and saving the kingdom. With six potential endings to the story available, you’re given a lot of freedom. Daggerfall allows you to make your path and story. Options are endless, and very entertaining.

Although there is no multiplayer co-op, Daggerfall is not about playing with friends. You find partners, enemies, and rivals within the game itself. Each character reacts to the actions you take.

Fighting your foes takes some time to come to grips with. The controls can be clunky. Mastering this is less of an issue. You decide to help villagers, or terrorize them by becoming a werewolf. The gameplay is in-depth and runs in real-time. This is what makes Daggerfall’s gameplay so immersive.

Skills such as lockpicking, and pickpocketing makes it easy to get rich quick. Daggerfall gives players everything they want in an RPG. Spend some time getting to know the controls, it’s worth it!

Where can you run this program?

Available for PC only. Daggerfall was first developed for MS-DOS, so expect a few bugs when running on Windows 7 or 10.

Is there a better alternative?

No. There are modern RPGs out there with better controls, and silkier graphics, but the classic storyline, and gameplay make Daggerfall number one for an absorbing RPG experience.
